1. Unvoiced /s/ (voiceless)
Use after unvoiced sounds (p, k, t, f, ph, th). Vocal cords do not vibrate. Soft “s” sound.

2. Voiced /z/
Use after voiced sounds (b, d, g, l, m, n, r, v). Vocal cords vibrate. Buzzing “z” sound.
